SCG Muangthong United announce the official transfer of Thailand international Teerasil Dangda to J.League Club Shizuoka Shimizu S-Pulse for two years with options to extend.
Club official Mr. Ronnarit Suewaja, Director of Football from SCG Muangthong United, President Mr. Wilak Lohtong, as well as Mr. Kiyoshi Okuma, General Manager Shizuoka Shimizu S-Pulse joined with Teerasil Dangda at the SCG Stadium on the afternoon of February 5th, 2020.
This will be Teerasil's second stint playing in Japan's top league, after spending a loan season with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2018, before returning to play for the Kirin last year. The Thailand striker has also played in Spain's La Liga with Almeria, training with Manchester City, and Swiss team Grasshopper II. With Shimizu S-Pulse Teerasil will wear the #23 jersey.
Said Director Ronnarit, "SCG Muangthong United believe in the development of Thai football, and the transfer of Mui (Teersil) to the J.League will promote his development that will have benefits to Thailand. We encourage fans of SCG Muangthong United and Thailand to cheer on Teerasil in this new challenge."
Said Mr. Okuma, "We would like to express our thanks to all for attending today's press conference. Our coach and club expressed an interest in bringing Teerasil to the club this season. Teerasil will add attacking potential to Shimizu S-Pulse this season. We invite fans from Thailand to come and cheer on Teerasil and Shimizu this season."
Teerasil commented that, "I am very pleased and proud to be able to join Shimizu S-Pulse this season, and I thank the club for their interest. I look forward to the challenge of playing outside of Thailand, and will use the opportunity well and give my very best effort in helping the club to achieve a championship in 2020, while also working to benefit football in Thailand."
