SCG Muangthong United today unveiled six new players who have joined the Kirin for the 2017 campaign. Presented to the press by Coach Totchtawan Sripan alongside SCG Muangthong United club president Mr. Pongsak Polanant.
"This is another important day for SCG Muangthong United, and we've looked to strengthen the club with experienced players. This is an important part of preparing for the AFC Champions league playoffs, and part of our plan to become a dominant force in Asian football."
One key signing is South Korean former national team defender/midfielder Lee Ho (#15), who joins the Kirin from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, a well respected team in the K-League that has won numerous titles, including the AFC Championship. Lee Ho's efforts in the AFC competition, and also his time with Korea's national team in the 2006 World Cup, will bring considerable experience this season for SCG Muangthong United.
One of two midfielders who can be used as relief is Pitakpong Kulasuwan (#33) who joins the club from Bectero Sasana F.C., along with Ratchapol Mawanno (#13) a former national team player who last season played with Chainat F.C.
The forward line receives support with another former national team player, Mongkol Tossakrai (#22), who comes to Muangthong United from Chiang Rai.
Lastly, depth to the goaltending roster has been added with two key players with plenty of experience. Prasit Padungchok (#28) joins from Bectero Sasana, as well as team Putthipong Promlee (#37).
