SCG Muangthong United today provided their fans with some exciting news announcing the signing of the decade. Theerathon Bunmathan, captain of Thailand’s national team, has signed with the club.
In making the move after six years with Buriram United, Theerathon joins many of his national teammates. The signing will not only help SCG Muangthong United in their quest for trophies this season, but the War Elephants will benefit from many national team players being together in one squad.
Thirteen is expected to bring stability and stength to the back four, while also fulfilling a role as a free kick specialist.
Theerathon, himself from Nonthaburi, where Muang Thong is located, plays in the left back position. The 26 year old began is professional career in Divison 2, but quickly caught the eye of Buriram United. He played with Thailand’s U19 and U23 national teams, and has made 29 appearances for men’s team since 2010.
