SCG Muangthong United have drawn to play Malaysian club Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in Round 2 of the 2016 AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Champions League.
Muangthong finished 2nd place in the Thai Premier League, and this qualifies the team to enter the AFC Champions League. JDT is the championship team of the Malaysian Super League.
The match is scheduled for February 2nd at the SCG Stadium in Bangkok.
SCG Muangthong director Ronnarit Suewaja commented, “First I’d like to thank our players for all their hard work and to bring the team into this competition…but we must work hard and not underestimate our opponents.”
The team which wins this match will move on to the playoff round and face Shanghai SIPG F.C. of the Chinese Super League.
