SCG Muangthong United advance to the final of the Chang FA Cup with a stunning last second goal from Teerasil Dangda.
Both teams had equal share of the ball in the first half, though it was SCG Muangthong United to have the better chances at net, with several attempts at goal just wide, and 3 shots forcing the Army United keeper, Singaporean Hassan bin Abdullah Sunny, into saves. The flow of play was aggressive as both teams pressured the ball well, with two yellow cards at half time for each.
The goal came at the 40th minute when Mario Gjurovski curled a free kick over the head of the Hassan Sunny from near the touch line about 35 yards out. Muangthong almost had a second goal seconds before the half time whistle when Kasidech’s shot hit the post.
The second half also saw an equal battle, and this time it was Army United to equalize the score at the 83rd minute in a goal mouth scramble that went their way. Despite this goal SCG Muangthong United pressured hard, not allowing Army United out of their half for most of the last 10 minutes. The pressure paid off when Teerasil took the high and long corner kick from Mario Gjurovski, ran with the ball back towards the edge of the box, then turned for a quick low shot in the opposite direction.
SCG Muangthong United now will play Buriram United in the Chang FA Cup final, December 26th. Buriram defeated Chainat F.C. 2-0 in the other semifinal to set up a Classic Show Down between the top two teams in the country.
