SCG Muangthong United dropped 3 points with an away game loss at Chonburi F.C., the score 2-1 for the host team.
The match was fought hard by MTUTD but they were reduced to 10 men when Siwakorn was sent off, and then 9 men when Cleiton Silva was also sent off, all before half time. As well, Chonburi was awarded a penalty shot on a controversial call in which the referee appeared to change his mind from the foul being outside the box to inside. Mario Gjurovski scored the MTUTD goal with an assist from Chananan during the first half. MTUTD came close to getting the equalizer at several times, and despite the being 2 men up Chonburi were unable to add a goal in the 2nd half. With seconds left in the game a shot by Teerasil was on target and deflected out wide by the keeper, giving the Chonburi fans a moment of apprehension. "Despite 9 men, my boys push Chonburi until the end, and they are calling on the referee during extra time to end the game.." was Coach Talajic's reaction after the match, who was careful not to speak harshly against the referee, saying, "We are human, we can all make mistakes." MTUTD will play at home next week vs. Army United. Ticket details available at http://mtutd.info
