SCG Muangthong United 2, Osotspa 1

Muangthong United make it 2-for-2 with a 2-1 win over visiting Osotspa M-150. Additionally, forward Chananan, who has been coming back from injury, netted his second goal in as many games, showing glimpses of the form and promise this youngster possesses. It was very nearly 3 when he hit the side of the net during the second half on a first time strike on a long cross.
The first half began with intensity and within 3 minutes Muangthong had their first goal when Teerasil's pass finds Chananan who tucks it away. A second opportunity came a few minutes late with a hard strike from Thitiapn that was caught. Osostspa, however, we able to attack and put the defense under pressure. At the 20th minute, a free kick loops in and bounces in front of Jakkri, who was unable to get his hand on it, and Osotspa had equalized.
There were many tense moments as Osotspa were strong on their set plays and the Muangthong defense were called into action. Aoyama made a couple of ket clearances that prevented some goals. As well, Jakkri, who looked shaky at times, sends goal kicks out of bounds a couple of times, came through with some key stops.
The go-ahead goal came from Piyaphon heading in a cross, following several minutes of intense pressure from Muangthong. For periods Muangthong were able to pin Osotspa into their own third of the pitch and moved the ball skillfully amongst the forwards.
The second half saw similar moments of brilliance, however Osotspa were still able to put the Muangthong defense under pressure. The game also featured yellow cards and many foul calls, and both coaches were riding the edge of their boxes with words for the referees about some of the calls. In the end the crowd were very relieved when the final whistle finally blew.
