CONFIDENT WIN! - MTUTD 4, NAVY 1

MATCH REPORT

RAJ NAVY VS. SCG MUANGTHONG UNITED

APRIL 29, 2015

NAVY STADIUM SATTAHIP

SCG Muangthong United were able to cruise to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Raj Navy FC, a team promoted to the Thai Premier League this season and currently 16th place in the league table.

By the end of the first half Muangthong were up 3-0 on goals from Thitipan, Chananan, and Teerasil. Coach Dragan Talajic had elected to field a fairly strong team, however Kawin was given a rest in favour the #3 keeper Jakkri. Muangthong were able to dominate the play and the Nay back line were not able to contain the speed and movement of the attacks.

The second half started slowly, with Muangthong apparently content to protect their lead. Datasakorn Thonglao, however, had to be stretchered off after a bad knock. The Muangthong midfield were a bit disorganized after Siwakorn entered the match as the replacement, and the break in focus allow Navy to get one goal back on a well hit shot from 25 yards out.

SCG Muangthong United re-grouped, however, and started to apply the pressure as they did in the first half. The last 25 minutes of the game were controlled by MTUTD, and the result was Wuttichai's goal at the 92nd minute, taking a header from Teerasil and finding the bottom corner with a good right-footed finish.

SCG Muangthong move temporarily into 3rd place with this win, however whether they stay there or not depends on the outcome of the Army United vs. Bangkok Glass, played later the same evening. A win by either would drop Muangthong to 4th, however a tie would leave them in 3rd.

The next match for SCG Muangthong United is Saturday May 2nd, at home, vs. Chiang Rai United. Tickets are available in advance through Thai Ticket Major outlets, either in person or online at http://www.thaiticketmajor.com/sport/sport-detail.php?sid=2750&la=en
