The first half ended with no goals scored, and possession between the two teams equal, and the ball spent 65% of the time in the midfield. Early on, Teerasil was brought down in the box in what appeared to be a clear foul, but the referee waved off the penalty appeals, and Coach Talajic was on his feet in response. The half was physical, with a collision on the Glass keeper by Artit, and fouls on Cleiton Silva and Teerasil drawing free kicks. A good chance came when Datskaorn slid the free kick towards Sarach, and Narit was forced into a difficult save. In the last minute the yellow card finally came out as Mario Gjurovski's tackle brought down a Glass attacker, who retaliated by standing up and pushing over Gjurovski. Both players were booked.

The second half was dominated by SCG Muangthing United, though Bangkok Glass had a couple of chances and Kawin was forced into saves. United pressured the ball heavily and kept the ball in the Glass half. Several quick movements of the ball between Mario, Cleiton, and Teerasil, and the hard work of Sarach Yuyen and others chasing, showed SCG Muangthong's form had improved significantly. Mario Gjurovski was subbed off at the 70th minute, to avoid aggravating the knock he had picked up last match. The highlight of the half was a long throw from Piyaphon which bounced over the keeper and in, according to the referee and the linesman, though it was cleared quickly. Intense pressure on the referee and linesman led to their minds being changed and the decision being over-turned. The half also saw the physical game continue, and further yellows were issued, and Glass captain Peerapong picked up his second yellow at the 90th minute and was sent off.

"Our club is an honest club...I will not say one word against the ref, we are all human beings, we all make mistakes, I will not comment more on this," was Coach Talajic's response to the denial of the penalty call, and the changing of the decision over the goal that had been awarded to SCG Muangthong.
