SCG Muangthong United 1, Jeonnam Dragons 1.
Despite missing six key players, Muangthong United played a solid and energetic game against the K-League's Jeonnam Dragons. The lone United goal came from Cleiton Silva in the first half, when a long ball from the half way line was not cleared, allowing Silva to muscle his way onto possession and then hammer one past the keeper from close range. Muangthong's defensive line was strong, with Japanese defender Aoyama in the centre back role, allowing Kin Dong-Jin to play just in front, effectively creating a 5 man back line. Muangthong played very conservatively, keeping possession and moving the ball about well, though allowing the Dragons time on the ball. The equalizing goal also came in the first half, based on a set piece off a free kick, the only time the United defense defended poorly, similar to the previous match against Busan IPark when the goal came from a free kick as well. United will continue the pre-season training and any further friendly matches will be announced via the clubs website/google +/ and Facebook pages.
