WAR ELEPHANTS ADVANCE TO QUARTER FINALS AT THE ASIAN GAMES WITH 2-0 WIN OVER CHINA

Muangthong midfielder Sarach Yuyen (pictured) and the rest of the Thailand National Team (U23) defeated China 2-0 to advance to the quarter final round of the Asian Games 2014.

Muangthong keeper, KAWIN THAMSATCHANAN, maintains his perfect record without having allowed a single goal in all four games. The War Elephants had won their group stage with shutouts over Timor Leste, Maldives, and Indonesia. The squad will face Jordan in the quarter final stage on September 28th. There is optimism that this time around the squad has what it takes. "This is the best team yet," remarked head coach Kiatisuk "Zico" Senamuang. The team earned a gold medal in the Southeast Asian games in 2013, though their best showing as the Asian games was a quarter final spot back in 2010, where they lost to Japan 1-0.
