In the morning of August 16th at Nakhon Si Thammarat Stadium, the Nonthaburi District 1 Team, made up of SCG Muangthong United Academy U16 players, won the final duel against Buriram District 3 (The Lightening Castle) with a score of 6-5 on penalties (match tied 1-1), grabbing the football championship of the Prime Minister Cup for under 16 year olds.


The first half ended tied 0-0, and in the second half Somkiat Khunmee, midfielder from NonthaburiDistrict 1, scored. The Lightening Castle then applied the pressure and equalized at 75 minutes, ending the game with a tie 1-1. In the penalty shoot out, Muangthong were the better side, winning 6-5.

Before Nonthaburi District 1 Team obtained their title as champions, on the first round they wonSatun District 9 by 2-0, Kamphaeng Phet District 6 by 2-0, the penalty round with Nakhon Si Thammarat District 8 by 6-4 (during the match tied 2-2), Bangkok District 10 (players from Bangkok Christian College) by 2-1, and finished off with Khon Kaen District 4 by 2-0.
