MTUTD vs Buriram, Toyota League Cup Quarter Final, Leg 2 WE WERE NOT LUCKY!! Muangthong United lost 0-1 at home to Buriram in the second leg of the Toyota League Cup quarter final match. The first match had finished in a 0-0 draw. Muangthong controlled most of the game and came close several times, with the ball cleared off the line, or striking the woodwork. Despite Teerasil and other key players being given a rest, United were clearly the better team for most of the match. The game was even until the 89th minute when a slight defensive lapse allowed Buriram to gain the only goal of the game. Muangthong's Cleiton Silva, playing in the striker position, commented that, "This was a heartbreaking match. We had many good chances, with the ball hitting the crossbar. It just took one little moment near the end. It was just a but lucky for them." Muangthong's new head coach, Dragan Talajic, watched the game from the stands, and will be considering what changes to make for the regular Thai Premier League games and winning the championship. "I will not change too much, but slowly try new things, and mainly to continue in the same way as has been established so far this season. The goal is to win the championship." Muangthong United's premier league matches resume on Sunday with a visit to Police United.
