MTUTD explode with 4 goals to defeat Samutsongkhram 2-4 and claim sole owners of the top of the table.

Teerasil Dangda opened the scoring in the 13th minute and then Jay Bothroyd added the second goal at the half-time mark. Samutsongkhram added a goal, but then Mario Gjurovski made it 3-1 for the visitors. Jay Bothroyd added his second goal at the 60th minute before the game ended with MTUTD on top 4-2.

Samut Songkhram are struggling this season, with only 1 win, 2 draws, and 6 losses. They are 19th in the table. Muangthong United, meanwhile, are in first spot, just ahead of Singhtara based on goal difference. Last season the team finished 16th overall with six wins. As Jay Bothroyd said, however, MTUTD is taking each game as it comes and not thinking too much about the league standings.

MTUTD's next match is Sunday May 4th, at the SCG Stadium against 11th place Suphanburi. MTUTD have a challenging set of fixtures approaching, as games against arch rivals Buriram, and also Chonburi, are all upcoming.
