SCG Muangthong United earned their 7th clean sheet of the season with a solid 3-0 home win over struggling Sisaket F.C. Goals came from Mongkol ('40), Adisak ('64), and Tristan Do ('90).
The only major change from last week's AFC Champions League line up was for Xisco Jiminez to be rested and Adisak Kraisron given the nod. Otherwise coach Totchtawan seemed to not be taking chances with the three points against 16th place Sisaket F.C.
Within the first 7 minutes the Kirin were to have three corner kicks, and a good chance at goal close in, but Adisak could not get a solid kick onto the ball and it was easily handled by the Sisaket keeper, Suppawat.
Sisaket responded with quick counter attacks down their right hand side, and a fine defensive block from Lee Ho was needed early on. Yet the Kirin were to control the play, keeping the ball and pressing Sisaket. Tristan Do was to find a bit of room and cut across the edge of the box for a left footed try that was wide.
Mongkol was to score the first goal at the 19th minute as Tristan Do's cross went off the crowd and came to him at the far post for an easy nod home.
With 5 minutes to go before the half Theerathon showed his skill as the team's spot kick specialist when his curving attempt was over the wall but off the post and out.
The second half began at a better pace for Sisaket and the two teams split possession through to the xx minute.
A good chance came with a free kick at the 62nd minute but Adisak's header was over the bar.
A few moments later, however, Adisak put the Kirin 2-0 up after his shot was nicely set up by Teerasil. The goal relieved some of the pressure, though Adisak was injured on the play and had to be taken off. Sannukran was his replacement. Adisak was taken to Bangkok Hospital for further analysis.
Adisorn had also entered the game by this point, replacing Mongkol, establishing a more defensive stance. With 10 minutes to play the Kirin were defending hard as Sisakat pressured towards the box. Kawin was forced into several saves, but the centre back pairing of Naoaki Aoyama and Celio Santos was outstanding, forcing shots to be taken from distance.
Muangthong United were to get a late third goal on a fast counter attack, with a pretty give-and-go between Teerasil and Tristan Do, which resulted in Tristan's low strike into the far corner.
SCG Muangthong United play their next match away to Ratchaburi Mitr Phol on Saturday April 22nd, then next Wednesday, April 26th, the Kirin host Brisbane Roar in the next AFC Champions League fixture.
