SCG Muangthong United’s lack of form away from home was apparent once again after dropping 3 points in a loss to Army United, 2-1.
At half time the score was 1-1 after Army United took a quick lead at only the 2nd minute of the match. A moment of lapse in centre defence allowed Azeredo to move 1-one-1 with Kawin, who made the first save, but the rebound landed on an Army United’s foot for the easy finish.
Muangthong evened the score at the 19th minute when a cross from Suriya found Cleiton Silva who headed it in from near the penalty spot.
The second half was dominated by Army United as Muangthong were put under pressure in the midfield. Several scoring chances for Munagthong were unsuccessful.
Army United took advantage of the counter-attack and this was the source of their second goal. After Muangthong’s midfield were slow to back track, and the defenders short handed and out numbered, it was easy work to find the open man open.
"Today we make another misstep," said Head Coach Dragan Talajic. "We have some problems with injuries, and we are short on the bench. But the boys gave their very best tonight."
